Remembering Malcolm X

Rare Photo of Malcolm X at the barbershop

February 21, 1965 | Entering the auditorium at last, Malcolm cried “As-salaam alaikum [Peace be unto you].” The audience replied in unison: “Wa-alaikum salaam [And unto you be peace].” Suddenly a disturbance broke out several rows back. “Get your hand off my pockets!” a man shouted. “Don’t be messing with my pockets!” At the distraction, Malcolm raised his hands. “Now brothers!” he cried, “Be cool, don’t get excited . . .”

As he spoke, three men rushed down the aisle toward him. Eight feet away, they opened fire. One man with a double-barreled sawed-off shotgun blasted Malcolm at point-blank range. “There was what sounded like an explosion,” said a dazed woman.

Minutes after the shooting, Malcolm’s body was lifted from the stage, placed on a rolling bed that had been wheeled over from the nearby Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and rushed to an emergency operating room. A team of doctors laid open his chest, tried to revive him via open-heart massage. But Malcolm X was dead.

Kanye West Made The Most Outlandish Comparison Between Donald Trump, MLK And Malcolm X

Kanye West Made The Most Outlandish Comparison Between Donald Trump, MLK And Malcolm X

But wait ’til you catch the tentative name of his political party.

#KanyeWest has been accused of using his slavery apology tour to sell records when the real reason may be political. The rapper is campaigning for that #2024 U.S. presidency we thought (OK, hoped) he forgot.
🔷️
Continuing his #Chicago homecoming press tour, ‘Ye sat down with #DJPharris on Chicago’s Power 92 Radio to discuss how he’s still down with Trump’s ability not to “f**k up the paper,” despite not agreeing with all of his policies and his presidential aspirations, according to The Fader.

🔷️
In  his praise for Trump, he utterly disrespected #MalcolmX, #Gandhi and #MartinLutherKingJr. by saying they were assassinated because “they were so righteous and so liberal that they f**kin’ up the paper.”
🔷️
“If you f**kin’ up the paper, your head gon’ get knocked off,” he fixed his lips to say.

🔷️
Um.
🔷️
Pharris also asked West if he was still eager to hop into the presidential campaign game.

🔷️
“Yes, 100 percent; could happen [in 2024],” he told Pharris. But that’s not all; the Ye rapper is not going to pigeonhole himself into the Democratic or Republican parties. He came up with his own.

🔷️
Yes, this is a thing that’s happening.
🔷️
Y’all ready for the name?
🔷️
#Kanye has dubbed his new political party: The Birthday Party.
🔷️
OK.
🔷️
He hinted at his focus: “I’m going to make sure the medical industry flourishes,” he noted.
