DVSN – AMUSING HER FEELINGS EP

DVSN always present us with dope r&b vibes every year, and now they’re back with another project that will have you relating to it on a very personal level.

NYCK CAUTION – ANYWHERE BUT HERE

Not only is Nyck Caution presenting us with a dope voice to vibe to…He’s also dropping fire flows as well! This project gives you plenty of balance!

VYBEZ KARTEL – DANCEHALL ROYALTY

Are you ready to party?? This project is filled with nothing but dance riddems to truly have you ready to go clubbin!!

RIPP FLAMEZ – EVERYBODY HATES RIPP

Yall need to quit playing with Ripp Flamez!!! He literally has his own lane that nobody can touch and he does it well.

FREDO BANG – IN THE NAME OF GEE

Fredo is getting better and BETTER!!! Make sure to be looking out for him in the future!!!

UNOTHEACTIVIST – UNOVERSE

This project is LIT!!!

ASIAHN – THE INTERLUDE EP

Excuse my wording, but this is my SHIT!!!!

NEW MUSIC FRIDAYS

AMINE – LIMBO (DELUXE)

I am loving this deluxe by Amine. The original was dope too, but kind of a snooze in my opinion! The songs added to this deluxe reminds me as to why I like Amine music from the start! Rating: 7 out of 10

SHAWN MENDES – WONDER

What I truly like about this album is that its such a feel good vibe from the beginning to the end. This album can be played around the seniors and the babies for the way Shawn sing his lyrics keeps things safe..nothing is overly done. Overall a great album with only 1 feature artist, Justin Bieber, and every song sounds like the piece to a perfect playlist. Rating: 9 out of 10

YFN LUCCI – WISH ME WELL 3

I am very excited to hear on YFN Lucci’s 3rd installment of the “Wish Me Well” series, that auto tune was not overly used!!! I liked his music, but I found myself having to hear a song repeatedly just to get into it. Of course this project is filled with dope artist features and club joints and songs for us LADIES! Rated 8 out of 10

DJ SCHEME – FAMILY

I love when dj’s release projects with dope features from your most popular or artists who you should get to know! Dj Scheme followed the same playbook and did well. Rating 8 out 10

RICO NASTY – NIGHTMARE VACATION

I am so happy for Rico Nasty!!!!! I have been a few for a couple years now, and what I love about her is she is making her own lane. Like how nobody can be like Future, no one can be like Rico period!! For this to be her first album, she went in. Dope features with artists like Gucci Mane, Don Tolliver, Amine, Trippie Redd, PPCocaine, my girl Sukihana, and the lovely Rubi Rose!!! Definitely a must listen! Rating 10 out of 10

YUNG BABY TATE – AFTER THE RAIN

Here’s another lady to whom I have been loving her vibe as an artist, writer, and just overall style! This project I swear has me wanting more! From having dope feature with another bomb artist Flo Milli and 6lack only adds to more flava, but Yung Baby Tate can handle her own tho! Rating 9 out of 10

SOULJA BOY – SWAG 3

Soulja Boy always stay consistent with his music even if it still sounds the same, but the beats are hard for he is a producer! I can admit that he has a couple of tracks I can find myself bumping to. This project has no features just Young Draco on every track giving you swagged out flo! Rating 6 out of 10

DRAKEO THE RULER – WE KOW THE TRUTH

I like his voice for some reason, but he be telling some interesting street tales! Features including Icewear Vezzo, Lil Mosey, Tee Grizzly, Rich The Kid, and others let you know they most likely agree with me as well! Drakeo is fresh from out of jail so you know the project is filled with that Detroit flava, and deserves a listen!! Rating 8 out of 10

NEW MUSIC FRIDAYS

ARIANA GRANDE – POSITIONS

As Ariana is growing with her music, I can’t help but to love her more and more. Such a talent and stays with the dopest features and nice vibes throughout the whole album.

BUSTA RHYMES – EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT 2: THE WRATH OF GOD

Not only am I super excited for Busta Rhymes to drop part 2 from 1998’s Extinction Level Event 1! Then listening to the album has me in total awe. First, shoutout to Busta Rhymes for copying 21 Savages style with including Chris Rock on his album. Wait, dope ass features with BBD, M.O.P., Rick Ross and even Minister Farrakhan speaks, and others. Overall this is a dope project. Yes it doesn’t compare to the first Extinction Level Event, but the 2nd half of the album does get LIT! Busta is an artist who is not going anywhere nor getting rid of his lyrical flows.

SAM SMITH – LOVE GOES

What I enjoy about Sam Smith’s music is that you can feel it in your soul, and is very relatable. This album feels like the soundtrack to just about everybody’s life and experiences in this crazy year of 2020. Of course Sam made sure to include some dance tracks while belting out heart felt lyrics provides the recipe to a great album.

WIZKID – MADE IN LAGOS

It’s been 3 years since WizKid has dropped his own album. Now we did get some great music from him a couple months ago when Beyonce re-released the Lion King soundtrack, but it just wasn’t all WizKid tho! Just like his last album be prepared to groove with the tight riddims on this project. Even the intro had me ready to slow wine imagining I am on an island somewhere! Great project overall…I always expect the best work from WizKid.

KING VON – WELCOME TO O’BLOCK

One thing I love about King Von is he is a story teller. He will have you thinking you are there in Chicago! On this project expect to hear from mainly Chicago artists which is very dope, always represent for your hometown especially when the love is being returned back! This project is definitely a step up from his previous work, and overall I like it.

TRIPPIE REDD – PEGASUS

I do not know what people was complaining about? I like this album. Trippie does come off with a more calmer and quieter sound than on his previous work, but the sound works for him. I think he has mastered his cadence in music for no matter how he changes it up, it still comes together and sounds great! Of course he has all the dope features including Cleveland’s own, Doe Boy, who has a project coming out November 6th. If you are a true fan of Trippie Redd you will definitely enjoy this album as well.

COMMON – A BEAUTIFUL REVOLUTION

Common always thinks outside of the box and stay dropping music that makes you think and vibe for the production is always dope! Honestly can’t find nothing negative about music that is supposed to uplift you especially during these crazy times.

MADEINTYO – NEVER FORGOTTEN

I look at MadeinTYO like a new version of TY Dolla $ign. They’re both dope with the productions and can make decent albums for themselves! Now I was shocked to see that the producer had came out with an album. Now I am so happy! LOL Forreal this album totally is a banger. Each track will have you boppin your head, plus with features from a mixture of people like J Balvin to Cam’ron to even Wiz Khalifa.

LIL KEED – TRAPPED ON CLEVELAND 3 DELUXE

I am not going to say too much about this deluxe version for I spoke highly on the regular album when it came out. Since 2020 is the year for all these deluxe albums Lil Keed said shit why not? LOL The new songs that he has added on the deluxe add to the already flavored album. Basically saying Lil Keed is LIT.

JIMMY VALENTIME & URBAN MIRACLE – DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE

You can tell that Jimmy is straight into old school hip hop which nothing is wrong with that for I do like how he blends it with the current style of hip hop now. The first 3 tracks had me wondering what was I getting into, but then the song “Porch Lights” comes on and I found myself vibing to it hard. Next thing I know the rest of the album was dope! This is one of the reasons why I love to listen to albums, for 1 single truly does not give an artist any justice.

JALEN FRAZIER – EXPRESSIONS OF THE NEGLECTED

The Midwest knows how to come thru with some good music and dope lyrics. That’s what Jalen did with this project. I feel like this is the best ending to a TGIF! I am glad this artist reached out to me, and that I actually took the time to check him out. After your first listen I bet that you will not be disappointed at all.

Make sure to check out new episodes of Tina with the Tea featuring Ms Cream of the Crop as my cohost on EVERY podcast station or if you want to see the visuals of us go to 216 The Beat’s channel on YouTube!!

New Music Fridays

Welcome back to another T.G.I.F. I hope everyone’s week has been positive even during these crazy circumstances! I got some new music from a couple of heavy hitters and even from Cleveland as well. Please make sure to say a prayer for George Floyd and his family. I am getting tired of having to ask the question WHY US??

BARLOS MONTANA – KAPPIN 4 DUMMIES 3

Cleveland native Barlos Montana giving us another installment of Kappin 4 Dummies that sounds more litty than the last! Trust me when I say that after listening to just 2 songs you will be hooked. Some of my favorite tracks include: “Say Less”, “Blessed Dat Bitch”, and “On Go” will have you singing along to the words in no time! LOL I can admit that I was waiting patiently for this project, and he did not disappoint!!

LADY GAGA – CHROMATICA

Just like Lady GaGa said above…I found myself doing the exact same thing!! LOL GaGa scores again with this new Project Chromatica. This album is filled with heavy energy songs whose lyrics have meanings that can be felt, but then an interlude plays for 1 to 2 minutes then it’s party time!!! Her voice is truly a talent, and she is a performer who will be here well over 20 plus years! Im still at Club Quarantine at the house please believe that this album will be part of my playlist Honey!!! A few of the songs I love include: “Rain On Me”, “911”, and “Enigma”.

DIPLO – DIPLO PRESENTS THOMAS WESLEY CHAPTER 1: SNAKE OIL

Listening to Diplo‘s new project Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley Chapter 1: Snake Oil reminds me of a modern cowboy type of western movie and this is the soundtrack! Look! I have a weakness for albums that have themes! They literally give me a whole vibe. Some the tracks that I like the most include: “Heartless”, “Dance With Me” who features Young Thug, and “Real Life Stuff” featuring Julia Michaels & Clever.

LIL YACHTY – LIL BOAT 3

When I found out that Lil Yachty was coming out with another edition of the Lil Boat series I got too excited!! Yall can go back to New Music Friday posts from 2 years ago and I mentioned how everybody talking down on Yachty now, but in a few years they will be riding D!!! Guess what?? I think they need to grab a condom because the ride is about to be REAL!!! This 3rd installment has dope as features including: Future, Tyler The Creator, DaBaby, Drake and A$AP Rocky just to name a few! I can expect to hear some summer 2020 anthems from this project!! Tracks to check out: “T.D.”, “Pardon Me”, “Black Jesus”, “Can’t Go”, “Oprah’s Bank Account”.

FREDDIE GIBBS & ALCHEMIST – ALFREDO

Anything from Freddie Gibbs thats produced by Alchemist will have you on a whole damn vibe! This new project Alfredo sticks to the recipe, but is better than their previous collaboration, in my opinion. The track “Scottie Beam” just had me dying slowly until I heard Rick Ross voice, then I flat lined!!! Then the track that follows it, “Look At Me”, hits you with that Freddie Gibbs flow that makes his style so distinguishable and makes you want more! Even though it’s only 10 tracks, those tracks will satisfy a your earbuds very well!

ACE HOOD – MR. HOOD

I haven’t heard any new music from Ace Hood in a long time. Lately he’s been putting out fitness videos with his new wife, and they’re literally doing very well with that! Mr. Hood is an album that shows a level of maturity from the artist. Even though he’s been out for a little over ten years, he’s always made songs about the regular struggles of life but made it in a way that can motivate you to keep pushing. This new album doesn’t have those type of songs, but still carries itself with radio type of tracks. I personally like “12 O’Clock” that features singer Jacquees. This album gets an honorable mention for the week. Does this mean we will start to get new music from Ace Hood more often??? Hopefully, that is the case!

BIG K.R.I.T. – K.R.I.T. WUZ HERE

Things that I love about BIG K.R.I.T. is that he always stays true to himself, his lyrics stay consistent & on point, he also produces his own music, and represents Mississippi proudly! K.R.I.T. Wuz Here stays true to what I am accustomed to when it comes to K.R.I.T.’s music. Now that he’s been independent we been blessed to see him blossom into an artist to be respected.

Here are my honorable mentions for the week!! Make sure to check them out as well 🙂

SLIMELIFE SHAWTY – NO SLIME LEFT BEHIND

MOTHER NATURE – PORTALZ

MEDHANE – COLD WATER
