Dame Dash wants to end feud with JAY-Z following Rock & Roll Hall of Fame speech

Dame Dash is ready to squash his 20-year beef with JAY-Z after the 4:44 crafter shouted him out during his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Speaking with Page Six on Monday (Nov. 1), Dash said Hov’s induction speech shoutout “was beautiful.”

“I’m glad he said it for the culture. We need to squash everything,” he said. “So, hopefully if that was an extended [olive branch], I’ll spin one back. I have no beef with [him] if [he has] no beef with me. Let’s get the lawyers out of it then. Let’s talk like men, but I definitely appreciate it.”

He added, “I would never want you to think that we have to go to the court to resolve anything. We can talk it out and the culture needs to see two strong Black men working out a problem. Even if they worked together, they can go their separate ways [and] they can still be cool.”

As reported by REVOLT, JAY-Z saluted his former friend and Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder at the Rocket Mortgage Field House in Cleveland on Saturday (Oct. 30).

“Shout out to Dame. I know we don’t see eye-to-eye, but I can never erase your accomplishments, and I appreciate you and I thank you for that,” he said.

Hov also applauded The Notorious B.I.G., adding, “He was one of the most honorable people I’ve ever met and we created something that will probably never be duplicated. I appreciate you guys. Thank you for our journey. Thank you. Thank you for your contribution to this journey.”

JAY-Z and Dash famously started Roc-A-Fella Records with Kareem “Biggs” Burke in 1995. However, the dismantling of the label ended in the former business partners’ bitter feud, most recently sparking back up again over a Reasonable Doubt NFT.

Speaking with Page Six, Dash agreed that while they “don’t see eye-to-eye,” the pair has “accomplished too much to be beefing.” He also said he’ll always consider Hov a brother and reflected on the rapper’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

“That means I’m in the Hall of Fame,” he said, “Whether we cool or not, him getting in the Hall of Fame is major. So congratulations to us, congratulations to him and thank you [to him] for keep working so hard to where he got to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Anything he can do to make me great, so thank you for even continuing to strive. He keeps my name alive.”

Allen Iverson and Al Harrington are ready to take over the cannabis scene in L.A.

NBA Hall of Fame Allen Iverson has joined Viola, a purpose-driven cannabis brand co-founded by basketball great Al Harrington.

As Viola’s talent partner, Iverson will continue to build on many of Harrington’s business initiatives, leading the drop of the first strain of Viola’s The Iverson Collection in October. Other cannabis and non-cannabis products will follow.

“I’ve had a lot of people approach me with business opportunities, but this one with Al was different. After seeing how devoted he is to this business, and him educating me on how beneficial the plant is, it just felt right. I’m excited to be a part of it; together, we’re about to change the game,” Iverson said, after visiting Viola’s 18,000 sq ft. grow in Detroit last March.

Harrington added, “In the same way Allen impacted the culture, we’re going to continue to impact the cannabis industry. We’re going to keep pushing boundaries. I’m honored to have Allen on board. We want to continue to inspire others and encourage people of color to participate in the cannabis space.”

Although Iverson and Harrington were never teammates, over time they developed a beautiful friendship — they actually call it a brotherhood, taking inspiration from one another for years.

During his time in the league, Iverson fought hard change the narrative around fashion and style. Similarly, Harrington has been working to educate and enlighten the NBA and other sports leagues and incumbents on the healing power of cannabis and the racist origins of its stigma and the War on Drugs.

This connection made the partnership a no-brainer, the athletes explained.

Earlier this year, Viola became the first Black-owned multinational cannabis brand after cannabinoid-focused biopharmaceutical company Avicanna agreed to license the brand, using it to create specific formulations for sale across medical and consumer retail channels in Canada. Viola will receive a royalty fee for the use of its name, but Avicanna will ultimately develop the products being sold north of the border.

More recently, the company received Mezz Brands into its incubator program, launched last October with the objective of providing operational support to minority-owned cannabis businesses.

“I Gave My All” is the latest video by the late Faith Walker presented by Taot Recordings with production by platinum award-winner Marcus Kane. The single is from Faith’s new self-titled album, out now on all platforms.

Over smooth R&B arrangements, Faith delivers heartfelt vocals about one-sided relationships. Selflessly she’s held it down and gave her all with no questions asked. Realizing the love isn’t reciprocated, Faith affirms, “I gave my all, what did you do? I gave it my all but what’s the use? I gave my all I’m through! ‘Cause I tried to make it work but it takes two, me and you!”
