Artistic Rebels 3rd Anniversary

#Team216TheBeatCleveland had the opportunity to broadcast live at the Artistic Rebels 3rd Anniversary party and dance competition.

The Cleveland team had the chance to broadcast live at the Artistic Rebels 3rd Anniversary party and dance competition in Beachwood, OH on May 19th. While my team was setting things up, I had the chance to check out the venue & meet the different dance crews who were participating in the competition. The first group, for which I already figured out who they was, the Artistic Rebels, who was dressed in all black with red lettering. The next group, TK Entertainment, hailing from my father’s & LeBron’s hometown, Akron, OH. One of the groups whose energy was I truly enjoyed was, Next Step. Then last but not least the group, Mute Crew.

As soon as 7:30pm came in one of 216 The Beats djs, Dj Raven, started playing on the 1s & 2s….a whole vibe entered the dance studio. Every time I turned my head it was someone dancing or doing their own dance move getting hyped! The dance competition did not start yet, so I assumed the dancers were just warming up to past time.

The energy was so positive throughout the whole event. I can admit, due to my busy schedule, I rarely get time to myself just to have fun, and I can say that not me, but the rest of 216 The Beat crew truly enjoyed ourselves. It felt like a mini melting pot. There was people of different races, for example, it was a guy, who just joined the Artistic Rebels, had came up to represent for his crew, people of all different ages…I think the oldest person was 50 and the youngest was 2 years old, and with all those teens there, nobody started any drama or fights.

The Artistic Rebels, which is an entertainment company who specializes in promotion, choreography and more, truly held a great and organized event. I loved seeing all the support from everyone who came out to the event, some even danced in the mirror by themselves LOL Their was 2 dancers that got my attention was a young girl, I believe she is part of TK Entertainment crew, can dance!! I also enjoyed watching this younger kid who looked to be about 8, he kept doing one of my favorite dance move that is hot right now!

Once the time changed to 9:30pm, the competition was ready to start! Unfortunately, I had to leave before the competition ended, but I will say is that EVERY crew brought it! The 3 winners were:

1st Place – Dauve
2nd Place – Ernie
3rd Place – Limbo Joe

On behalf of 216 The Beat Radio, we want to congratulate the winners!! I hope we will be back next year for the 4th anniversary.

LA Clippers Tease Quavo With A 10 Day Contract

The LA Clippers teased Quavo with a 10 day contract after becoming 2018’s NBA Celebrity Game MVP!!

On Dj Vlad site, they caught Balleralert comment creeping up under Quavo’s twitter post, and pointed out how the L.A. Clippers commented “We got that 10 day contract for you when ever your ready”

This type of announcement should not come off as no surprise for Quavo scored an amazing 19 points during the game that led to his team winning the game! Quavo Huncho had 7-10 FG, 5 rebounds with 3 assists! He almost knocked NBA 2K host, Rachel DeMita, out her shoes when he blocked her shot!

Quavo, being the talk of the night, was so excited about his win that he even brought his MVP trophy out with him to The Beats By Dre party!

Being a major fan of the Migos, I been knew that Quavo was very athletic & during his down time he stays active by continuing to play sports. Quavo, whose real name is, Quavious Marshall, was the starting quarterback for Berkmar High School. During his high school years Quavo led the county in passing yards and set game records.

According to Bleacherreport Quavo’s former coach, John Thompson, believed Quavo was a great player and was quoted as saying “He was a joy to coach; he made it fun,” Thompson adds. “The thing they all had to learn was that for me, to be on time you have to be five minutes early. Quavious would always walk in exactly five minutes early and smile that little grin he has: ‘Coach, I’m here!’ I think sometimes he did it just to aggravate me, but he was always there. He was a prankster.”

Even though the LA Clippers were making a joke, they know that if Quavo was not a part of the Migos, he will prolly take the deal! While watching the game I thought Chris Brown was going to be the show off for the game, like he usually do! SIKE!! Quavo proved me wrong!

I do believe that once the Migos reach a certain level of fame, Quavo will return back to his roots and will start a little league team like Snoop Dogg did years ago. When you’re blessed with talent, its only right to spread those blessings back to our youth for they are our future!!

Celebrate Juneteenth

Happy #Juneteenth 🙌

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States.  Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. Note that this was two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation – which had become official January 1, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the new Executive Order. However, with the surrender of General Lee in April of 1865, and the arrival of General Granger’s regiment, the forces were finally strong enough to influence and overcome the resistance.

Juneteenth In Modern Times

Today, Juneteenth is enjoying a phenomenal growth rate within communities and organizations throughout the country. Institutions such as the Smithsonian, the Henry Ford Museum and others have begun sponsoring Juneteenth-centered activities. In recent years, a number of local and national Juneteenth organizations have arisen to take their place along side older organizations – all with the mission to promote and cultivate knowledge and appreciation of African American history and culture.

Juneteenth today, celebrates African American freedom and achievement, while encouragingcontinuous self-development and respect for all cultures. As it takes on a more national, symbolic and even global perspective, the events of 1865 in Texas are not forgotten, for all of the roots tie back to this fertile soil from which a national day of pride is growing.

The future of Juneteenth looks bright as the number of cities and states creating Juneteenth committees continues to increase. Respect and appreciation for all of our differences grow out of exposure and working together. Getting involved and supporting Juneteenth celebrations creates new bonds of friendship and understanding among us. This indeed, brightens our future – and that is the Spirit of Juneteenth.

‘Something Won’t Let Me Drown’ @Lanzaretta [TRK]

Soul singer and songwriter, Lauren Lanzaretta, released her 11-track debut album, Naked Soul, in June of 2014 which was welcomed with positive reviews. Jeff Neisel of the Cleveland Scene Magazine said, “The debut from Lauren Lanzaretta effectively channels Aretha Franklin and other Soul/R&B greats, calling attention to this rising talent.”

Lauren continues to light up the music scene with her exciting live performances and inspiring vibes. Currently, Lauren is working on her new album entitled “Deliverance”, which will be an evolution of her signature soul sound with hints of rich gospel. The new EP features emotional piano ballads, inspiring choir backing, and vulnerable lyrics that draws the listener deeper into Lauren’s life experiences.

‘Something Won’t Let Me Drown’ is a soul/gospel piano ballad written, produced and performed by Lauren Lanzaretta, and is the first single from her upcoming album “Deliverance”.

100% Of the proceeds from “Something Won’t Let Me Drown” will be donated to Remember Nhu. Remember Nhu is a movement of people who dream of a better world. We believe that children have an inalienable right to grow up happy and healthy, and the idea that any child should be victimized in this way is appalling to all of us. Consider the following question: If you had the opportunity to identify a child who is at risk of being sold, prevent that from happening, and protect the child from ever entering the sex trade—would you do it?
