One of the United States greatest basketball players, Kobe Bryant, tragically passed away in a helicopter crash yesterday.

A total of 9 people passed in this terrible accident. I am still in shock about it myself! Kobe is in my age group. I am a mother of 3 children with one on the way, and I can not imagine having to bury my partner and child at the same time.

Sad incidents such as this really makes you analyze your life and the people who are involved in it. I bet Kobe and everyone who was on that helicopter woke up on Sunday only looking to attend a girls basketball game. It makes you realize that when we get up in the morning getting ourselves ready for work or school that we may not make it back home to our loved ones.

I decided that I could’ve spent my time just going in on Kobe and his legend status, but he was not the only one who passed. I feel so much remorse for not only Kobe’s family, but for the other lives who were lost too! I too have dealt with losing very close people in my life some whose death I knew was coming eventually due to long term illnesses, while the others were so unexpected.

During a time where mental health is being stressed, I just hope that everyone takes this time to grieve, and to take into consideration that even though a lot of us have never met Kobe, his daughter, or the other families involved, does not mean it did not touch our hearts or make us hug our own kids real tight. I know for me, I have to give myself atleast 5 years to really grieve. I remember when my god sister passed from complications due to Lupus it took me about that much time just to be able to speak about her without shedding a tear.

Losing a loved one does add a void in your life. I chose to always remember the greatest in a person or to reminisce on the fun times that I will always treasure. Like Kobe, I can remember when he took singer, Brandy Norwood, to prom back in 1996. Or how he was one of the first people to get drafted into the NBA right out of high school like LeBron James. Or the one year the Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers were in the 2001 NBA finals, Kobe found his self going head to head with Allen Iverson, who was also drafted in the NBA the same year as him.

Just so many memories, that I know we all will treasure forever. Always remember that what we all have in common is that everyday is granted to us. Make sure to give people their praises while they are alive, and to cherish this day like it is your last!

#KobeBryant was one of 9 people who died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas on Sunday morning along with his second oldest daughter GiGi. He was 41.

Athletes and celebrities from around the sports world mourned the loss of the Lakers legend on social media. Along with friends and fans.

Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the Bryant family as well the loved ones of the other passengers on board who loss their lives.

But he also used his time at the podium to address the “elephant in the room,” calling for more diversity at the Grammys and challenging the Record Academy: “You’ve got 365 days to get this s*** together.” “The last few days I’ve been conflicted,” Combs confessed to the A-list crowd at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. “I’m being honored by the industry that I love, the family that I love, but there’s an elephant in the room, and it’s not just about the Grammys. There’s discrimination and injustice everywhere all the time. But there’s something I need to say to the Grammys. … I say this with love to the Grammys, because you really need to know this. Every year, y’all be killing us, man. I’m talking about the pain. I’m speaking for all the artists here, producers, executives. The amount of time that it takes to make these records, to pour your heart out into it — and you just want an even playing field. In the great words of #ErykahBadu: ‘We are artists, and we are sensitive about our s***.’ We are passionate. For most of us, this is all we got. This is our only hope.
“Truth be told, hip-hop has never been respected by the Grammys. Black music has never been respected by the Grammys — to the point that it should be,” Diddy continued. “So right now with this current [Dugan] situation, it’s not a revelation; this thing’s been going on. And it’s not just going on in music; it’s going on in films, it’s going on in sports, it’s going on around the world. And for years, we have allowed institutions that have never had our best interests at heart to judge us. And that stops right now. I’m officially starting the clock.

Jazz Musician signs record deal at age 82!!!

An 82-year-old south-Londoner has had his lifetime ambition come true by getting a record deal.
#RexMartey suffers from prostate cancer and needs dialysis three times a week.
He wanted a deal so he could leave a legacy and has been signed by record company The Animal Farm.
One of the songs on his album is dedicated to the cancer nurse who’s treated him for the last few years.
He has pledged a quarter of all sales will go to Guys Hospital.

Philly Duo Kohn x Steve Sxaks Drop ‘Light at the End’ LP

Philly based MC/producer duo of Kohn and Steve Sxaks return with a diverse, generational fused project titled ‘Light At The End.’  The 11-track album features Reub Boy, BellaBlu, 3T3N, Biz Mighty, Joe White, and Marrissa Joy.

Sxaks shows off his impeccably mastered production skills while Kohn delivers quick-witted wordplay, classic storytelling, and at times hits you with ‘in your face’ lyrical bombs. “Wanna Ride” offers listeners a laid-back vibe of R&B blends mixed with modern cadences. However, don’t get lost in hypnosis as “Goldar” picks up the pace with distinct striking sounds that heighten Kohn’s Trap flow. “Pay Up” is a catchy track, one that can be heard blaring anthem style. THE CONNECTED SERIES SEASON 2 PREMIERE

Hey guys! It’s your girl Mz Slimgoody coming to update ya’ll on an event I got to host back in November!

If you guys remember, last year I interviewed a talented guy by the name of Brandon Bell, who is an actor, rapper, activist, father, and a wonderful husband to one of my high school alumnus. Well…he invited me to not only attend this wonderful event, but to also host the event as well! Needless to say…I was beyond excited to partake in this experience, and network as well!

This super dope event I speak of is The Connected Series Season 2 premiere. I got familiar with the series last year when Bell’s manager requested that I interview him and provided me with a little bit of his resume which had me intrigued and also anxious to meet him. Now fast forward to the premiere itself which was at a local movie theater in Euclid, OH. Yes I can admit that the event started on CPT time LOL but the energy was very welcoming and animated.

The Connected series is a crime drama that Brandon Bell is the main character and the creator of the series too! The crime drama follows him as he navigates his life with all of this crime, suspense, and wavering loyalties going on…I am surprised he was able to make it to season 2 without dying!!

Pleas do not think that I am going to indulge all of the juicy details from the premiere!!! Oh No!! So make sure to check out the series premiere below, and all of the dope actors I got the chance to interview! I also must note that all of the actors and production crew are all from Ohio, talented people, and in December I found out that the series got picked up by a network!! Major congratulations to the cast and crew of The Connected series!!!
