After years of releases on labels such as BBE, Sonar Kollektiv and Rush Hour and with a multitude of works with award winning artists such as Pugs Atomz, Steve Spacek, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Blu, Inkswel is finally launching his own record label with his partner Charli Umami. Enter Inner Tribe. A play on words, the labels ethos speaks to invoke the vibe and spiritual connection within us all. The innovative new label is built upon the very foundations that first inspired the couple, that being a love of Hip-Hop and Soul music. Inner Tribe’s debut release is a double single, premiering Inkswel’s Mind Beats Series- which will eventually take its final form as an album.
The title track ‘The Sun’ features vocals from the extensively prolific Ohmega Watts, known for his classic albums like ‘Watts Happening’ and ‘The Find’ as well as his role in the infamous Lightheaded Crew. The song also features lush vocals from Lailah Reich out of Detroit and additional horns from Sydney Horn player Sloth. To back up the title joint, Inkswel has delivered the bonus track ‘Spread Love’ featuring Tableek from legendary 90s New York crew Maspyke. As Bleek and Inkswel had collaborated previously on Inkswel’s 2016 BBE Records album, it was only natural that they continued vibing. Inkswel brings new sounds to the spectrum that effortlessly guide the lyrical message of connection and hope. All of this backed up by visionary artwork from Michal Rafaj, Inner Tribe’s debut release will forever shine bright like THE SUN!

Queens Godfathers Kool G. Rap, Tragedy Khadafi and Blaq Poet take it to the coliseum and compare war scars on Rock Mecca’s star studded “Q-Boro Thoro” Coliseums remix, produced by Jake Palumbo. From Rock Mecca’s “FE26 The Ironsides” EP, available on all platforms.
ROCK MECCA
Rock Mecca’s critically acclaimed LP “Ironworld” was released in 2018. The three years it took to make the album generated several outtakes, side appearances and remixes that are now being released as a compilation EP dubbed “FE26: The Ironsides”
The properties of iron are being channeled here to bring you hardcore Hip-Hop in the form of 8 tracks, all bangers no filler.
Recorded at the Spacelab, a studio in Brooklyn, N.Y, which is quickly becoming a go-to spot for the cream of New York’s underground rap scene, a few frequent passerbys were pulled to the side to drop a sixteen as Rock was working on Ironworld.
The EP that resulted is a star-studded project with a who’s who of Hip-Hop’s true school. Features include a rare appearance by New Jersey legends Artifacts, a collaboration of Queens Godfathers Kool G. Rap, Tragedy Khadafi and Blaq Poet as well as Flipmode Squad’s Rah Digga and West Coast spitter Ras Kass. Brooklyn vets Smif-N-Wessun and Shabaam Sahdeeq also make an appearance as well as new school phenom Tha God Fahim.
“FE26: The Ironsides” is the first of a few releases slated to be released by Rock Mecca this year and another standout project to add to the cannon of his discography.
Hard on the heels of the first single from their revamped album, Oceans Deserted – The Remixes, beloved New Mexico MC Def-i and respected SoCal producer and artist Ariano drop their latest joint, “Woke Up Late.”
DEF-I
“Woke Up Late” is a re-conceptualized version of the track from the original album. It’s a different vibe for Def-i, unlike any sound fans have heard from him before. His effortless flow and innately creative rhymes are still on deck, but there’s a moodier feel that’s downright sexy. Def-i’s delivery combined with the sultry rasp of LA’s Josh Dominguez on the hook creates an entirely seductive sound. Ariano’s production is a clean overhaul of the original track; leaning more towards bass-heavy rock and less traditional hip hop.
“Woke Up Late” is the second single from Oceans Deserted – The Remixes, and dropped May 8th on Popular Nobody.

About
“Nobody’s gonna wait on you.”
This is the mantra of hip-hop artist losLAUREN 718. It’s what prompted him to rhyme for veteran rapper AZ in a nightclub in 2005. It’s part of the motivation that led him to being featured in The Source’s Unsigned Hype column in 2006. It’s why, not seeing the opportunities he desired, he opted for grad school at Florida A&M University, earning his MBA, and why he joined the Air Force. It’s what’s been the inspiration behind his company, and record label, Allergic to Failure, since its inception in 2012.
Splitting his time between The Bronx, and Florida, losLAUREN 718’s music incorporates both traditional NYC lyricism, and Florida’s history of melody and bass. Listeners will also find a refreshing dose of honesty in his work. He points to a humorous, but authentic, line from his EP “Shades of Blue 2.5”, as he raps, “Stingy with dough / fuck Coinstar / I roll my quarters,” noting, “that’s a real fact. I’m not trying to pay 10% for you to roll it up!”
Previously, losLAUREN 718 has worked with a litany of notable DJs and producers, including DJ Green Lantern, DJ Drama, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Ty Fyffe (Foxy Brown, Busta Rhymes), QB Da Problem (50 Cent, Scarface, Joe Budden, Raheem DeVaughn), Nefarious! (Amor Jones), and Chris Prythm (Lloyd Banks, Nipsey Hussle).
