POOH SHIESTY – SHIESTY SEASON

Pooh Shiesty got the radio blazing with his singles so of course I couldn’t wait to hear what a full length project will sound from him. Pooh comes with hard lyrics and surprising features, but my energy tends to move up and down like a rollercoaster while listening to it!!! Thankfully this is just a mixtape, and not his actual album!

EC MARV – BEAT DA ODDS

I have been hip to EC Marv for a couple years now. I have seen his clout chasing moments to him looking like the best boyfriend, babydaddy, father EVEERRRR! LOL I decided to check out his new project for by now I felt like he should be REALLY talking about something in his lyrics. Not saying that he didn’t do that before, but when you live “life” the raw emotions from it tend to provide great music , and EC Marv did that on this project! This is definitely a must listen.

THE WEEKND – THE HIGHLIGHTS

If you do not like The Weeknd then something is clearly wrong with you! Me, personally, I’ve been a fan since 2011, and even when I may fall off from listening to him, I can still check in and he’s still on fire! This project will definitely remind you of his greatest works, and don’t forget the work he’s done with Drake too!! Make sure to watch the 2021 Super Bowl this Sunday, the 7th to see The Weeknd shut this halftime special DOWN!!!

PROPAIN – IT AINT SAFE OUTSIDE

Propain made sure to give us what’s exactly has been not only on his mind the minds of people everywhere with a little Texas kick to it tho! Dope features from all of Houston’s greatest helps to convey Propain’s message on this overall dope project!

DEVIN THE DUDE – SOULFUL DISTANCE

To hear Devin The Dude on anything is a blessing! In 2021 he decides to bless us with a nice album to vibe to, smoke to, and just chill something that I think is needed during these times.

Elijah Lamar – Drip(Trip Remix)

I just got hip to up and coming artist, songwriter, and battle rapper named Elijah Lamar, last month. The single I am featuring “Drip(Trip Remix)” is a cover to Ella Mai’s platinum hit “Trip”. Even though Jacquees caused an uproar when he decided to redo the song, I can say that Elijah made it to HIS VERSION….I even enjoyed how when I thought the song was about to end, the beat changed with his delivery! Let me know of what y’all think of his song below! For me…I can see it on repeat!

I just got to know this talented producer through some family that I have who live out in the Bay Area of California. Me, being nosy like I do I agreed to check some of his music out for which now I am happy to say that I did for I enjoyed the music he sent to me. The first single titled “Chillin” is from a few years back and the inspiration behind the track came from him believing in the artist, Bizzel, which allowed him to open up his own creativity & feelings on the record. From this single, it inspired the producer to create a whole album for Bizzel titled “Whiten by Bizzel” which is available on all platforms.

This is the other single I grew to like of course I love to shout my ladies out! I truly loved Alma Rosae’s delivery on this song…which makes it so DOPE! The talented artist stated that the song “Freaky Tales” is about living your best life & being able to express your sexuality freely. Alma goes on to state..that their shouldn’t be a double standard, women should be able to be players too & not judged for it! The single is available on Rosae’s EP “Boys” which is available everywhere so make sure to check it out!!

Each week I am going to post artist’s that I believe people should check out! This week I have two artists from Cleveland who have 2 totally different styles, but have music that anyone will love and enjoy. From your conscious music to booty shaking music or even to rhythm & blues, if the content is dope, I want to be one of the first to promote it!!!

Last month I had the chance to meet with this up & coming artist who goes by the name of Malik X. A conscious individual who describes himself as someone who is consciously trying to get some money. He is a young artist who you can tell is grinding his way thru this business & is making his own lane. Malik X is also a co-owner of a nice venue in Cleveland called The Underground. It’s a place that offers spoken word, open mic nights, and performances from many of the talented artists in the city, as well as Malik X. Now…I find it amazing how you can follow someone for YEARS on social media & not really know much about them! Well, this artist who goes by the name of Chris J Allday, is one of those people. I got to listen to his project called “Allday” and I am in complete awe of this project. Chris has a delivery that commands your attention but allows you to truly peep his lyrics while vibing to the beat. The “Allday” project was released a couple of months ago and has songs to sit back & vibe to, turn up to, and even shake ya ass to LOL Just like I mentioned for the artist above, I guarantee this will not be the last time you will hear of Chris J Allday.
