BUSTA RHYMES – EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT 2: THE WRATH OF GOD
Not only am I super excited for Busta Rhymes to drop part 2 from 1998’s Extinction Level Event 1! Then listening to the album has me in total awe. First, shoutout to Busta Rhymes for copying 21 Savages style with including Chris Rock on his album. Wait, dope ass features with BBD, M.O.P., Rick Ross and even Minister Farrakhan speaks, and others. Overall this is a dope project. Yes it doesn’t compare to the first Extinction Level Event, but the 2nd half of the album does get LIT! Busta is an artist who is not going anywhere nor getting rid of his lyrical flows.

What I enjoy about Sam Smith’s music is that you can feel it in your soul, and is very relatable. This album feels like the soundtrack to just about everybody’s life and experiences in this crazy year of 2020. Of course Sam made sure to include some dance tracks while belting out heart felt lyrics provides the recipe to a great album.
It’s been 3 years since WizKid has dropped his own album. Now we did get some great music from him a couple months ago when Beyonce re-released the Lion King soundtrack, but it just wasn’t all WizKid tho! Just like his last album be prepared to groove with the tight riddims on this project. Even the intro had me ready to slow wine imagining I am on an island somewhere! Great project overall…I always expect the best work from WizKid.
One thing I love about King Von is he is a story teller. He will have you thinking you are there in Chicago! On this project expect to hear from mainly Chicago artists which is very dope, always represent for your hometown especially when the love is being returned back! This project is definitely a step up from his previous work, and overall I like it.
I do not know what people was complaining about? I like this album. Trippie does come off with a more calmer and quieter sound than on his previous work, but the sound works for him. I think he has mastered his cadence in music for no matter how he changes it up, it still comes together and sounds great! Of course he has all the dope features including Cleveland’s own, Doe Boy, who has a project coming out November 6th. If you are a true fan of Trippie Redd you will definitely enjoy this album as well.
Common always thinks outside of the box and stay dropping music that makes you think and vibe for the production is always dope! Honestly can’t find nothing negative about music that is supposed to uplift you especially during these crazy times.
I look at MadeinTYO like a new version of TY Dolla $ign. They’re both dope with the productions and can make decent albums for themselves! Now I was shocked to see that the producer had came out with an album. Now I am so happy! LOL Forreal this album totally is a banger. Each track will have you boppin your head, plus with features from a mixture of people like J Balvin to Cam’ron to even Wiz Khalifa.
I am not going to say too much about this deluxe version for I spoke highly on the regular album when it came out. Since 2020 is the year for all these deluxe albums Lil Keed said shit why not? LOL The new songs that he has added on the deluxe add to the already flavored album. Basically saying Lil Keed is LIT.
JIMMY VALENTIME & URBAN MIRACLE – DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE
You can tell that Jimmy is straight into old school hip hop which nothing is wrong with that for I do like how he blends it with the current style of hip hop now. The first 3 tracks had me wondering what was I getting into, but then the song “Porch Lights” comes on and I found myself vibing to it hard. Next thing I know the rest of the album was dope! This is one of the reasons why I love to listen to albums, for 1 single truly does not give an artist any justice.
The Midwest knows how to come thru with some good music and dope lyrics. That’s what Jalen did with this project. I feel like this is the best ending to a TGIF! I am glad this artist reached out to me, and that I actually took the time to check him out. After your first listen I bet that you will not be disappointed at all.

This project is consistent with volume 1, but what I am noticing is that every one of these artists are using their platform to speak against the injustice and abuse Black Americans have been going through especially in 2020. Problem made sure to speak on his thought from this year and I feel him. Of course Problem had to enlist some dope artist to partake in his vision including Tyrese, Jack Harlow, Jay Rock, Freddie Gibbs, Snoop Dogg and more!
I can’t tell you guys a time that Curren$y came weak on a project. With production from Harry Fraud, this album is definitely a must listen. Usually Curren$y does not use too many features, but I see for this project he went IN! Features including: Trippie Redd, Snoop Dogg, Styles P, and Larry June….I instantly got excited. It’s knew it was about time for Amine to drop another album!! I think it’s been since 2017!!!! Please believe that not only is the wait over, but it was well worth the wait. This sophomore album sounds like he really took his time and even made a very good dedication to the recently deceased ex NBA player, Kobe Bryant. Overall, this is a great album with a lot of feel good tracks with dope lyricism to top it off!
So DaBaby decided to follow the theme of 2020 which is re-release your album , but make it a deluxe album! Honestly…I’m liking a lot of the new songs added to the deluxe album vs the original! I swear DaBaby is not going anywhere no time soon!

I see the formula for re-releasing albums with additional songs by which makes the project a deluxe version. Like Dababy, I like the songs a little more that was added onto the original album. I personally enjoy Rod Wave’s music for he makes music that you can feel, and this project is something his fans will definitely enjoy.

To see that one of my favorite singers/actresses finally released some new music I was totally ecstatic!!! It literally been 8 years since she has released anything new! This new album starts off a little slow, but once you get to song 6 the album starts to come live LOL overall I am elated to hear her voice again and I hope she continues to bless us with her music.
Mannnn….I love Dom Kennedy’s music! Especially that mixtape he came out with back in 2012/2013 was kept on repeat and now he’s back like he’s never left with some more feel good tracks that come with dope rhymes to give you a little something to bump to on a nice sunny day!

Being that I am from the Midwest, we do not hear too much of what’s hot over on the West coast, but I can say that after hearing Philthy Rich the first time, I had to make sure that I checked his music out every time something new was released. This new project will do just that.
If you are a K Camp fan you know that his music always comes with a lil bump to it. I believe this is album does just that! This is the 2nd compilation that I have heard from K Camp and RARE Sounds and in my opinion….I totally enjoyed this album.

My aplogies for not making a post last week…with everything going on for the #blacklivesmatter movement, I just didnt have the energy to celebrate any new releases. I want justice for those who have died due to the police brutality, and I am hoping that people of color will be able to see some type of change very soon.
This week of new releases is still lower than usual but the quality of what is being released is at a 10. The sisters, Chloe and Halle, founded by Beyonce, released a new project that sounds very mature from the last. I admit sometimes I stray away from the teeny boppy music even if they have superior vocals, I tend to go towards more adultish vibes. LOL Chloe and Halle project creates a nice vibe and literally had me anxious to hear what might be considered something in the “Ungodly Hour“. From cheating men issues to going on and getting tipsy to feeling lonely and overwhelmed, Chloe and Halle, allow you to come into their world showing their fans that they go through the same things too!
Norah Jones soulful voice is what I needed to hear during these uncertain times. Her voice gives me so much settled peace and understanding. While checking out page to seen what’s been up with the beautiful singer lately, I see she has been doing concerts at her home on live. Not only is that a great idea for artists and entertainers to do while in the midst of the Covid-19. Pick Me Off The Floor does not disappoints, it actually gives me what I need, it’s something that touches my soul!

Future dropped a new project that I think is another meaning to him not drinking Lean anymore. Dope features that include: Drake, Travis Scott, NBA Youngboy and Young Thug gives this album something to anticipate, but still has a feeling as if something is missing. I realized what was missing….Future’s original style, music to turn up to. I know people will hate me for saying this, but I miss the music he made that I can see myself at someones after hours vibing off to. This album didn’t have me ready to shake my ass to…just none of that. All I did was listen to the lyrics and bobbed my head. Maybe a 2nd listen may help with my perception of the album. Just not now. IJS bring back my original Future Astronaut LOL
At first I thought that Polo G album was going to be as depressing as this rainy weather I am feeling, but I am proven wrong!! The Chicago native made sure to shout out deceased artist, Juice WRLD, who is also featured on the album as well as King Von, Lil Baby, and BJ The Chicago Kid. You will start to see the album turn up once you get to track 5 then it’s smooth sailing after that. I do appreciate Polo G and his stories that sound very relatable to the normal man. Deante Hitchcock first album has me smiling. He really put his all into this project, and it delivers that same energy back to it’s listeners.
