Do you guys know that when I found out that the collab with Curren$y & Freddie Gibbs came out on Friday and I am just now finding out about it TODAY made me so sick!!!! WOO SAHHHH….I digressed and quickly pulled my earbuds on took a mental ride vibing to this album “Fetti” while I am working!

Albums like this allows me to appreciate how the 90’s hip hop truly played a major role in my life. Listening to Alchemist productions throughout the album felt so nostalgic, but missed. I never thought I would see Freddie Gibbs & Curren$y on a project together…Nope…they seem like 2 different styles!

You have Curren$y with the smoke a joint & get on this jet high flow mixed with Freddie Gibbs deep alto gritty sound telling all these vivid dope boy stories on top of beats that made me think Prodigy was going to scream “Yo Dunn” in the chorus! I could break down each song, but I want to read you guys thoughts too!

Hey!!! It’s your girl Mz Slim Goody I am soooo extra late with my NEW MUSIC FRIDAY post. I swear their is a time when your body will force you to take a rest!! My poor left foot got bitten by a spider to all of a sudden get infected which turned into a whole ass abscess smh #death ….all last week I was anti-bodied up as well as medicated for my pain. ANTICIPATING TAKEOFF’S ALBUM

Takeoff, one of the members from the Migos, announced 2 weeks ago that he will be dropping his solo effort after Quavo’s solo album dropped. Since the release date of his solo album is quickly approaching on November 1st, we was blessed with a teaser to assist with the anticipation of it’s release!

I don’t know about y’all…BUUUTTTT I believe Takeoff’s album will be better than Quavo’s! I can’t say if it will be better than Offset for he is one of my faves too, but Takeoff is the one whose flow is so raw & if you are not paying attention you will not get what he is saying LOL we cant take him for a joke, for there was a time when Offset was going back n forth to jail and while he was absent, Quavo & Takeoff were holding the group down! So before anyone tries to write my boy off, who is also a Gemini too, listen first then come to my new music Friday post to comment your thoughts!

If you are from the Midwest then you know that yesterday was a holiday that is dedicated to the special men in your life titled “Sweetest Day”. That’s when all us ladies go all out for that special man to show our appreciation & gratitude of having that man in our life!

King Styleon dropped a video yesterday titled “The Sweetest Day Flaws & All” basically expressing his feelings to the woman he loves. Overall, a great video and I am starting to find myself looking forward to future projects from King Styleon. A Cleveland, Ohio native whose lyrics have meaning as well as a feel good charm to it that I know y’all will truly enjoy!! Check the video out below & comment!!!

JACQUEES QUEMIX 3 IS RELEASED

Well…I can not say that I am not heavily surprised that on the same day Ella Mai is out doing press interviews promoting her self titled debut album, Jacquees, decides to drop his 3rd installment of the Quemix.

I swear I told yall about a year ago that R&B is not dead! With new music from Ella Mai, Usher and today with Jacquees gives me so much more hope that there is more to look out for. Speaking on Jacquees, since he is the reason for the season for this post today, he released a third installment to his Quemix series. This is a short mixtape, basically a teaser, only 30 minutes of him singing over used beats, but changing them up to fit his style. With a few artist features including Trey Songz & Wale, providing this mixtape with the energy I wished we could have received from Jacquees full length album “4275” that was released earlier this year. MANIAC BLAC, T.I. & PLIES NEW MUSIC VIDEOS

Over the weekend I had the chance to check out some new music videos from 2 of my favorite artists: T.I. and Plies. Certified King of the South, T.I. just dropped his 10th album entitled “Dime Trap”. While hot single Wraithe with a hot feature by Meek Millz keeps climbing the Billboard charts, T.I. has now dropped the video to The Weekend featuring Young Thug and Swizz Beatz. Check it out below:

On Thursday, Plies made an Instagram video promoting that a new video featuring Kevin Gates was going to drop on Friday titled All The Above. I assumed that this song was going to be about a love interest due to ALL the flowers I seen in Plies background as if he got a boo to be giving them out to! He must’ve forgotten that I been his “Shawty” since 2007 *TUH* LOL I thought this was going to be a weird collab, but actually it is not! Check it out below:

On Sunday during one of 216 The Beat’s Hit Or Miss Show #team216thebeatcleveland got the chance to be introduced to the featured artist of the day, Maniac Blac. What’s funny is, his name had me thinking he was going to be rapping about some gangsta shit! Actually, I feel like you can take some knowledge from his music. For example, the video to the single Luv Is A Feeling featuring J Ride & Dj Krucial is about a man who is so involved with the street life that even after his woman tells him how he seems to choose the streets over her, but unfortunately does not thinks about it until he is taking his last dying breath. I know…DEEP..right?? Sadly to say that is the biography of a lot of hood rich friends & family we love. Check the video out below & make sure to comment!!!

Mashonda Interview With The Breakfast Club

Mashonda, Swizz Beatz ex-wife, was a featured guest on New York’s Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club talking about her new book “Blend”.

I was able to catch this great interview with Mashonda, who is promoting her new book “Blend”, which is about co-parenting with Swizz Beatz & adding his current wife, Alicia Keys, into this blended family to make the kids happy. I swear this is a subject that I feel as if everybody has went through or knows someone who has.

I feel as if Mashonda has came a LONG way since the days of freshly breaking up with Swizz Beatz. There was so much being put out by Mashonda to the blogs! Her specifically calling Alicia a homewrecker & blaming Swizz for leaving her broke. Now in the year of 2018, Mashonda has finally gotten over her past & is moving forward to assist in providing a lovable family situation for Kasseem.

I have not read the book “Blend” yet, but I do plan to. I want to read the part Mashonda stated how Swizz was unable to attend parent teacher conferences, and Alicia offered herself to go in his place. Like, WOW! I do not know any stepmother aka mommy #2 who has stepped up like that! Mashonda mentioned how after that specific situation, she had no choice but to take Alicia serious & to allow her to be a role model as well as a mother to Kasseem too!

“The key to making this partnership to work was letting all the hurt & disappointments go of my relationship not working” stated Mashonda. Trust that if she did not let the past go, that favorite term of “bitter babymomma” would’ve been the talk of the town and the blogs. Which is sad, for who actually plans to raise a baby on their own? I know I did not.

I give so much kudos to Mashonda & Swizz Beatz for turning their whole relationship around for the sake of Kasseem, and I give kudos to Alicia for being that supportive wife & stepmother which helped Mashonda to view her in a way that allowed her to move on from her past.
